Conducting research on the anti-phospholipid syndrome, an autoantibody mediated thrombosis and fetal loss. Specifically, I have constructed a phage display library to identify peptide mimetics that react with patient derived pathogenic monoclonal antiphospholipid autoantibody (aPL). The affinity selected peptide mimetics will then be used to set up new diagnostic tests for the pathogenic aPL in antiphospholipid syndrome.
